The Power of Many Equals
The Australasian Council of Women and Policing (ACWAP) and the Western Australia Police Force invite you to ‘The Power of Many Equals’ Professional Development Seminar and 20th Annual Excellence in Policing Awards on 12 – 14 September 2018, in Perth Western Australia.
The Seminar will bring together delegates from police and law enforcement agencies, family and community agencies, as well as legal representatives, academics and researchers from across Australasia. Delegates will share, learn and innovate on best practice outcomes for women in law and enforcement by exploring the changing attitudes towards equality built on fairness, justice and diversity.
The Seminar’s main focus will be on the unconscious bias movement, diversity and leadership. Equality in today’s environment has evolved and has many meanings and contexts for both women and men.
In ensuring delegates understand what this means in their own roles and how they as individuals can have an impact, there needs to be clear acceptance that the power of both men and women working together as equals can create significant cultural change.
The Annual Excellence in Policing Awards and Dinner will publicly acknowledge and reward the achievements of those who are contributing to improving outcomes for women in law enforcement, inspiring delegates to do the same.
