Supporting Cancer Council Queensland – Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. To support this initiative, a Queensland Police Service (QPS) approved Challenge Coin has been created (image below). This will be a limited edition run and all proceeds from the sale of these coins will be provided to Cancer Council Queensland – Breast Cancer Awareness. This initiative has been made possible with the support of the Commissioned Officers Union.

Breast Cancer is the most common form cancer of women in Australia, one in eight women will be diagnosed with the disease. Men are also affected, with 25 men each year having the same diagnosis. This disease has directly impacted a number of police members and their families.

Cancer Council Queensland provides support to cancer patients and their families by offering counselling services and practical and financial assistance.

The coin will be available to all members at the cost of $15 per coin. Orders will be taken and arrangement made for delivery dependent upon location. The coins are currently in production and will be provided to members placing an order when they are delivered.
